Here’s a tip that I take for granted but maybe some of you do not know this. It will help you select keywords that you can compete with.
I always monitor the keywords that are sending me traffic. I want to know what keywords my blogs are getting traffic from and their position. It’s important. I take the keywords and analyze them in my keyword tool and see what the competition is. I do this for most of the keywords and determine what competition level my blog can compete with. In other words, I take the keywords and find out what the number of competing websites is. I now know what to look for when searching for more keywords.
Example: After analyzing my keywords that send me traffic, I determine that all of these have around 400,000 competing websites and I’m in 7th place or so with all of them. I now know that any keyword with 400,000 or less competing sites, will get me first page on Google and send me traffic. This is not a hard and fast rule but for the most part, it works for me. Use it as a guideline.
