Search Engine Optimization is not complete without a serous back linking strategy. Back links are one of the most important pieces of search engine optimization or SEO. Back links are like votes of popularity to the search engines. The more back links, the more popular or important the website is to the search engines. This is why you must employ a well developed linking strategy if you are serious about getting traffic and making money. If you have any doubts about the power of links just find a website that is #1 in Google for any keyword and then look up the number of back links by using Who Links To Me. Now you’ll be a believer. Make no mistake about it, back links are super important to search engine results placement. I’ve seen some sites with 50,000 or 60,000 back links. This is huge! And valuable too!

So how do we get back links? This is easy but very tedious work. You can get back links in a number of ways such as submitting your website to web directories, blog directories, commenting on blogs, participating in forums, social networking, submitting to article directories, organic linking (others link to you naturally), etc. This may seem overwhelming when you consider there are probably over 10,000 web directories, millions of blogs, thousands of forums, etc. So how do you get all this done? The answer is one by one. Yes, it will take a long time but it is well worth it. It is easy, if you do a little each day and before you know it you will have 5,000 links and then 10,000 links and so on. Here is the way I do it. Everyday I write a few posts on my blogs and then work on promotion. The promotion part consists of commenting on 5 blogs and participating in 5 threads on a forum. I have a link in my signature in all of the forums so each forum post has a link. So if I stick to this routine, I’ll get 10 links per day as a minimum. That’s 300 links per month and 3,600 links per year. Not too bad. This is not counting if anyone links to my blog naturally.
